CACAO & PSILOCYBIN
Cacao & Psilocybin share a long history of traditional and ritual use together. This combination has been used by the Aztecs in Central Mesoamerica for thousands of years for its synergistic effects, as a way to communicate with the different layers of consciousness.
Psilocybin is the active ingredient in psychoactive truffle and mushroom species.
Aztec myths tell that they were given to their ancestors by the snake god Quetzalcoatl, the creator of all life. The Aztecs called the sacred mushrooms Teonanacatl which means “Flesh of the Gods” (Teo stands for “God” and Nanacatl stands for “Fungus of Flesh”).

Cacao was used as an enhancer of the magic mushrooms.
Theobroma Cacao means “Food of the Gods”. This sacred, mood-enhancing plant and aphrodisiac was mainly prepared as a drink in combination with various herbs, and in special cases in combination with psychoactive mushrooms.

A golden combination, because both Psilocybin and Cacao influence the way our serotonin receptors work and they positively stimulate and complement each other. The synergistic effects of Cacao ensure better absorption of the active substances; the MAO-inhibitors found in Cacao slow down the breakdown of psilocybin and psilocin; this ensures that the effects are stronger and last longer, which can result in a more intense and consistent experience. Cacao in itself is non-psychoactive but does have stimulating properties as a mood enhancer, and has been described by indigenous people for centuries as the ultimate heart opener.
